The Van Gogh Sketching Pencils Special Set is a carefully curated 12-piece drawing set designed for expressive sketching, tonal studies, and mixed-media drawing techniques. Part of the Van Gogh student-to-artist range by Royal Talens, it brings together a selection of traditional sketching media in pencil form for versatile artistic use.

This set combines water-soluble sketching pencils with classic dry drawing materials, allowing artists to work both dry and wet for a wide range of tonal effects. The inclusion of earth tones, sepia, sanguine, charcoal, and white makes it especially suitable for figure drawing, studies, and classical sketching techniques.

The materials are formulated for smooth application, good pigment strength, and reliable blending, whether used dry for structured sketching or activated with water for painterly effects.
